Ethan Zargo, Architectural Photographer, Vancouver BC

    I am an architectural photographer based in Vancouver, BC, and founder of Kylix Production. My focus is architectural, fine art architectural, product, liquid, X-ray, and video photography, and every project starts from the same place: figuring out what the image actually needs to communicate before I pick up a camera.

    Before photography, I was a computer programmer. I lived on three different continents before turning thirty, and that move between very different lives taught me something I did not expect: programming and photography are built on the same instinct. Both are about engineering an idea into something that works, whether that is a line of code or a single frame.

    As a kid, flying was the thing I cared about most. That did not go away. I am now a certified Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot, which lets me shoot architecture from angles that are simply not available from the ground.
‍
    That mix of backgrounds, programming, aviation, and photography, is why the work leans toward precision. Clients bring me in when the images need to hold up under real scrutiny: award submissions, publications, client pitches, and marketing that has to look as considered as the project itself.

    My work has been recognized by the Annual Americana Photo Awards, Applied Art, Black and White International Photo Awards, and the Paris International Street Photo Awards, among others (see Achievements below).
